Keyword: code mixing, code switching, podcastThe ability of people to know more than one languages is called multilingualism. Multilingualism is one of the phenomena that is discussed in Sociolinguistics. In term of multilingualism there are phenomena called code switching and code mixing. That phenomena often happen in people’s daily life. Thesephenomena are also happen in one of Indonesian podcaster named Indah G. Even though some people like to watch Indah G Show YouTube podcast, many of them donot realize there are language phenomena called code switching and code mixing in thelanguage used by Indah G and Mella Charli. They do not understand it due to the lackof knowledge.This paper focuses on code switching and code mixing used by Indah in her podcast. The objectives of the study was to find out the type and functions of code switching and code mixing, and also to know the implication of the study in English language teaching.This study can be classified into descriptive qualitative research. The objects ofthe study are YouTube podcast video made by Indah. The video titled is “Language Barriers, Culture Shock & TCK Identity Crisis Ft. Mella Carli”.The writer expects from the teacher to make teaching-learning process as interesting as possible. It is ordinary happen that the teacher writes the form of target language on the white-board and the learners write down on their note-book. In order to practice the target language, the teacher can switch the target language with mother-tongue, rather than writing and memorizing. The teacher can use code- switching in learning process because helped the teacher explaining grammar and vocabulary of the target language. The learners can improve their speaking skills and enrich their vocabulary of target language.
