Keywords: Development, digital diary, learning media, personal recount text, writing skills. Learning media are crucial for creating an enjoyable learning experience. However, many existing learning media did not fully address students’ needs. This gap underscored the need for research to overcome specific educational challenges: 1) generating writing ideas, 2) identifying chronological order, and 3) a lack of writing practice. This research aimed to develop the “Pages of My Life” application with the guidebook as a learning media for teaching tenth-grade students personal recount text writing skills. The development process aimed to 1) know about students’ and teachers’ needs, 2) explain the development process, and 3) evaluate the feasibility of the application. The research used Richey and Klein’s (2009) Design and Development Research/DDR with the specific project phases: Analysis, Design, Development, and Evaluation. The writer collected qualitative data using questionnaires and documentation and analyzed it using descriptive analysis techniques. The students’ needs analysis showed that 94.8% needed media to help them generate writing ideas, with 82.5% identifying chronological order. Additionally, 87.6% wanted media to facilitate their writing practice. This result aligns with the teachers’ need analysis results, which showed that they needed media to support students’ writing habits and practice and to overcome challenges related to limited teaching time. The writer designed an application and a guidebook blueprint and then turned it into a product in the development process. The results of the application validation assessment by media experts were declared very feasible with a percentage score of 100%, and the material evaluation by the experts was declared feasible with a percentage score of 75%. Based on these results, the writer concluded that the “Pages of My Life” application is suitable for teaching tenth-grade students personal recount text writing skills. The writer hopes this research can be continued into the implementation and evaluation steps to determine the implementation of this final product.
