HOW TO COPE WITH THE PROBLEMS OF TEACHING READING COMPREHENSION TO THE THIRD - YAEQAR STUDENTS OF SLTP
The main purpose of writing thi s paper is to help teachers who have problems in teaching reading comprehension to the third year students of SL TP . It is studied from the fact that the students achievement in the National Final Examination (EBTANAS) is still under target. The theories from many books are used as the materials presented in this paper. Besides, the writer also has a lot of teaching experience in class. He faces a lot of problems in teaching Reading Comprehension, for example, the students often become frustrated easily as they find difficult words, complex sentences, difficulty in finding ideas and in answering the teachers' questions. To overcome these problems, the writer tries to present some techniques how to cope with them, besides, he suggests to the English teachers use the most suitable technique which is related to the topic or theme of the reading comprehension materials. If it is necessary, the teacher can use translation method as long as it is still suitable for the teaching. All the methods will be suitable if the teacher can understand the situation of the class in every school.
