SKRIPSI PENGARUH PENGUASAAN STRUKTUR TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MENULIS SISWA KELAS II SMEA SWADAYA TEMANGGUNG
English is the first foreign language in our coun- try. It is taught from the first year of SHP to the university.
English is taught to the students so that the stu- dents will have some skills. They are listening, speak- ing, reading and writing. To achieve all the skills above, based on the curriculum 1984, the material of Eng- lish is divided into five parts. They are reading, vocab- ulary, structure, speaking and writing. Based on the material of structure taught to the students, the re- searcher correlates it to the ability of writing. Fron the statement above, the researcher has put foward three hypotheses as follows
a. There is an influence of the mastery of structure to the ability of writing.
b. The mastery of structure will give a positive and significant contribution to the ability writing of
c. There are differences in points of writing ability between those who have low and high structure mastery.
To prove whether the hypotheses are true or false, the researcher has carried out a research in SHEA SVADAYA TEMANGGUNG. Thin research involved 80 students.
The researcher used The Random Sampling Technique with a lottery to decide the samples. To collect the data, the researcher carried out a post test. The post tent was divided into two kinde, they were structure and writing. The structure test consists of multiple choice type quetions and essay type questions. The test material covers from the first to the second year material. The writing test consists of dictation, the arrangement of worde based on correct structure, the application of capitalization and writing five simple sentences. Then they were equalized. In analysing the data, the research- er used the correlation analysing data, the reseacher used the correlation analysis, thettest, the regression linier analysis and the F-taat.
Based on the statistical calculations, calculated to in 11.597 and it is consulted tot table (dr88) an the wignificance level 05 (1.07). We can draw a can clusion that calculated to is higher than tahle or 11.507 1.67 It shows that there is a significant corre lation between the eastery of wiruciare and the ability of writing.
By regression linier analysis the equation can be produced as follows. Y 0,705 0,791 (X). For example, the researcher took the student who got point 8 for strue- ture. From the equation, we can draw a conclusion that the Increasing of one unit of variable I will be followed by the increasing of variable Y 0,705 0,791 (5). 8,976. Figure 0,781 in constant.
Based on the wintintical calculations, calculated To in. 133,850 and it is consulted to table (df88) on the nignificance level 95 X (3,06). We can draw con- clusion that calculated fo in higher than F table or 133,050 3.06. It shows that there in an influence of nastery of structure to the ability of writing.
The influence of the mastery of structure to the ability of writing of the students achievement in 0.0041. It means that the mastery of structure abeslutely infls- ences the students schievement.
Brand on the results, the researcher han drawn a conclusion that the result of the research has been mohieved, and the hypotheten shove have proved true.
