English Department, Faculty of Teaching and Education, Tidar University of Magelang This research is conducted to prove that teachers' effort in providing learning aids has a significant correlation to the achievement of English and to know the contribution. English in the important language which is used to study science and technology because there are still many books thai are written in English. For that reason English is important to learn especially ally by by student to develop their perspectives. Based on the result of the last examination of the school year 1998/1999 the students' achievement of English is still poor. There are two main factors which influence the students English achievement; they are the factor which come from the students themselves or internal factors, and the factors which come from outside of the students or external factors. One of the factors which comes from outside is teacher. One of the other things English teachers should provide learning aids well before their teaching learning process. They should develop professionalism in providing learning aids.
Based on the statements above, the researcher puts forward two hypotheses as follows:
1. There is a positive correlation between teacher effort in providing leaming aids to the student's achievement of English.
2. There is a significant contribution of teachers' effort in providing learning aids to the students achievement of English.
