THE INFLUENCE OF STRUCTURE AND VOCABULARY MASTERY ON THE ABILITY IN READING ENGLISH COMPREHENSION OF THE YEAR STUDENTS OF SLTP NEGERI 10 KOTAMADIA MAGELANG SECOND
English is very important for SLTP students espe- cially for those who want to continue their studies at the SMU. Therefore, they should be taught as well as possible to achieve four language skills speaking: listening, read- ing and writing.
SLTP students realize that their ability to read English is of low quality. By reading a lot they can get more information and ideas.
To achieve a good result of reading English. The teacher has to control the student's structure and vocabulary mastery, because without good mastery of struc- ture, and vocabulary, it will be impossible the students to achieve the good result in reading English. The better structure and vocabulary mastery the students have, the better result they will achieve.
Based on the statement above, the researcher put forward two hypotheses as follows:
1. There is a positive correlation between structure and vocabulary mastery and the ability reading English.
2. There is a significant contribution of structure. and vocabulary mastery to the ability in reading English.
