English is the first foreign language in our country and is taught at educational institutions. The teasing of English starts from the first year of the junior high school and finishes at the university. Although the students have studied English since the first year of the Junior high school. the students still find difficulties which cause their low achievement. cause
The achievement of learning English's influenced by internal and external factors. The external factors are facilities and environments, for example society, schools and families. They should be able to detect and overcome their students problems who have low achievements. While internal factors are factors that cone from the students them selves such as attitude, motivation. Intelegence and discipline in studying etc.
Nowadays the government of Indonesia encourages national discipline. For example discipline in teaching, learning and studying especially discipline in studying English.
In this research, the researcher tries to find the influence of discipline in studying English toward the students achievement of English of the first year students of SLTP Negeri 4 Kodia Magelang 1006/1007

The researcher puts forward the following hyphotheses

1. There is an influence of discipline in studying English toward the students achievement.

2. There is a significant correlation between discipline studying English and student achievement.

The research wants to know the influence of discipline in studying English toward the students achievement (the students who have a high discipline and who have not).

The research involved 60 students of the first year of SLTP Negeri 4 Magelang who have already been prepared as samples It uses the "random sampling technique with a lottery to decide the samples. To collect the data, the researcher uses the document and gives questionaires to then.
