SKRIPSI PENGARUH LINGKUNGAN TEMPAT TINGGAL SISWA TERHADAP PRESTASI BELAJAR BAHASA INGGRIS SISWA KELAS III SLTP MUHAMMADIYAH BOROBUDUR KABUPATEN MAGELANG TAHUN PELAJARAN 2000/2001
The purpose of this research is to prove that students living environment has a significant correlation to the English achievement of the Third Year Stu- dents of Muhammadiyah Junior High School in Borobudur Magelang Regency in the School Year of 2000/2001.
The researcher believes that students' living environment belongs to one of the factors that probably influences English Achievement. Besides that, students' living environment also gives a significant contribution to the English achievement.
To prove his hypotheses, he conducted a research on the influence of students living environment to the English achievement of the third-year students of Muhammadiyah Junior High School in Borobudur Magelang Regency in the school year of 2000/2001.
He took fourty of Muhammadiyah Junior High School students in Borobudur Magelang Regency as samples. He chose the representative samples by using Randomized sampling technique. The he randomized the samples by lottery.
To understand that the students living environment has a significant correlation to English achievement, he used the product moment correlation formula. The result of his analysis shows that the rh is 0.628. Then he consulted with r table with degree of independence (db): 1 and number of samples (N): 40. The r table is 0,312. It means that rh is higher than rt (0,729 0,456).
Based on the result, she concludes that students ‘living environment has a significant correlation to the Students’ English achievement.
