SKRIPSI ANALISIS KUAT LENTUR PADA MODIFIKASI SAMBUNGAN BIBIR LURUS BERKAIT DENGAN VARIASI DIMENSI PASAK PADA KAYU MAHONI
The use of wood in construction is limited by the available length of the wood, thus necessitating jointing processes to achieve spans that meet design requirements. Straight joints are a commonly used joint type, making it essential to conduct research aimed at developing and improving variations of straight joints. The connector has many variations. This study aims to determine the effect of peg dimension variations on the bending strength of modified straight joints in mahogany wood.
Five different dowel dimensions were tested: 10 x 10 mm, 15 x 15 mm, 20 x 20 mm, 25 x 25 mm, and solid wood. The fasteners used were mahogany dowels and fast-drying adhesive, with wood dimensions of 50 mm x 50 mm x 760 mm. Flexural strength tests were conducted according to ASTM D198-2015, SNI 033959-1995, and RSNI T-07-2005 standards, in the Structural Laboratory of the Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Tidar University. The flexural strength results for the various dowel dimensions: 10 x 10 mm, 15 x 15 mm, 20 x 20 mm, 25 x 25 mm, and the solid wood beam were 10,41 MPa, 10,60 MPa, 11,11 MPa, 11,24 MPa, and 52,53 MPa. Woodjoints using dowels with dimensions of 25 x 25 mm are recommended for wood pieces measuring 50 x 50 mm because they achieve the highest bending strength.
