SKRIPSI THE EFFECTIVENESS OF COLLABORATIVE LEARNING MODEL ON STUDENTS' LISTENING ABILITY OF SEVENTH GRADES AT SMP NEGERI 1 KOTA MUNGKID

Listening is one of the language abilities that students must grasp. Unfortunately, most of the students from SMP Negeri 1 Kota Mungkid still often have difficulty understanding the messages they hear. Moreover, this can be caused by the wrong choice of learning model.
This study focuses on students' listening ability. In this study, the writer used a collaborative learning model. This study aims to (1) analyze whether a significant difference exists between the collaborative learning model and lecturing learning with question and answer model on the students' listening ability. (2) Analyze the effectiveness of the collaborative learning model in the students' listening ability.
The writer chose quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Kota Mungkid with class VII E as the experimental class and class VII F as the control class. Sample selection was done through purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out using pre-test and post-test. Data analysis was done using the Mann-Whitney U and N-Gain tests. The study result showed the Mann-Whitney U test of the experimental and control classes, the Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value was 0.035 (
