SKRIPSI THE EFFECTIVENESS OF INSTANT ASSESSMENT STRATEGY ON 10TH GRADE STUDENTS’ SPEAKING SKILLS AT MAN TEMANGGUNG IN THE 2024/2025 SCHOOL YEAR
Speaking is a crucial skill in English language learning. However, many students face challenges related to speaking skills. These challenges often include a lack of confidence, limited vocabulary, and minimal opportunities to practice.
To address these issues, teachers should find appropriate strategies to improve students' speaking skills. One such strategy is the Instant Assessment Strategy, which provides immediate feedback during speaking activities. Through this immediate feedback, students can recognize and correct their mistakes in real time, leading to more active engagement in the learning process. As a result, this strategy may contribute to improved speaking performance. In line with this, this study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Instant Assessment Strategy in enhancing the speaking skills of 10th-grade students at MAN Temanggung during the 2024/2025 school year. This research employed a pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest and post-test method with apurposive sampling technique. The sample was 38 students of class X-A, MAN Temanggung. A single group of students was given a pre-test before the intervention and a post-test after being taught using the
Instant Assessment Strategy. Data were analyzed quantitatively using a paired sample T-test to determine whether there was a significant improvement in students' speaking abilities.
