SKRIPSI THE EFFECTIVENESS OF LINGOCLIP APPLICATION TO INCREASE THE HORTATORY EXPOSITION LISTENING SKILL OF THE TWELFTH GRADERS OF SMK NEGERI 1 MAGELANG
Listening ability is one of the basic skills that is very important in learning English, especially for vocational high school students. This skill helps students understand oral information accurately, which is very much needed in academic
contexts and the world of work. However, there are still many students who experience difficulties in understanding English spoken texts, especially hortatory exposition texts that demand a high level of understanding of structure and meaning. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using the LingoClip application in increasing the hortatory exposition listening skill of the twelfth graders of SMK Negeri 1 Magelang. In addition, this study also aims to determine how significant the difference in learning outcomes isbetween students taught using the LingoClip Application and students taught using the YouTube Application. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test model in two groups, namely the experimental group using the LingoClip
application and the control group using the YouTube application. The research instrument was a test given before and after treatment. The data were analysed using an independent sample t-test and effect size calculation to determine the difference between the two groups and the significance of the difference. The results showed that there was a difference between the experimental group and the control group, with a higher mean value in the experimental group's post-test. The independent sample t-test showed a p-value of 0.001
