SKRIPSI THE REPRESENTATION OF THE 21st CENTURY SKILLS IN THE ENGLISH TEXTBOOK “BAHASA INGGRIS: WORK IN PROGRESS” FOR THE TENTH GRADERS
A textbook designes to provide suitable learning materials for teaching and learning activities. It can help teacher and student achieve their learning objectives. Textbook helps student learn effective the 21st century skills that will enable them to function appropriately within a global community of English language speakers. Teacher is responsible for preparing students ability with the 21st century skills from the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture, such as critical thinking and problem-solving, creativity, communication, collaboration, and literacy. There are three objectives of this research. First, to know the 21st century skills represented in goals in the English textbook “Bahasa Inggris Work in Progress” for the tenth graders. Second, to know the 21st century skills represented in inputs in the English textbook “Bahasa Inggris Work in Progress” for the tenth graders. Third, to know the 21st century skills represented in procedures in the English textbook “Bahasa Inggris Work in Progress” for the tenth graders.
This research uses descriptive qualitative especially content analysis. The data collects from English textbook entitle “Bahasa Inggris: Work in Progress” for the tenth graders. The data analysis use data organizing and familiarizing, coding and reducing, and interpreting and representing.
