Reading comprehension refers to the ability to interpret written text, grasp its meaning, and connect it with the students' prior knowledge. It's the foundation for learning in all other subjects and is essential for success in school and in life. At school, students are often not interested in reading because many students consider reading to be very boring. As a result, this causes a decrease in their understanding of the material, thereby impacting their ability to answer questions related to the text. Therefore, the use of Quizwhizzer media is expected to improve students’ reading comprehension in descriptive text at seventh grade. Additionally, Quizwhizzer media uses gamification elements that can fosters a sense of competition and achievement, motivating students to improve their reading comprehension. The objectives of this study are (1) To find out whether the use of Quizwhizzer Media can improve the students’ Descriptive Text Reading Comprehension for the Seventh Grade of SMP N 3 Magelang in the School Year 2024/2025 (2) To identify how the use of Quizwhizzer Media can improve the learning motivation on Descriptive Text Reading Comprehension for the Seventh Grade of SMP N 3 Magelang in the School Year 2024/2025. The writer conducted Class Action Research (CAR), divided into Pre-cycle, Cycle I, and Cycle II. The subject of this study is 32 students in the 7F class of SMP Negeri 3 Magelang. The writer collected the data by using observation, questionnaire, documentation, and tests. The results of this study indicate that students are motivated to receive the implementation of Quizwhizzer media in reading descriptive text. The writer compared the results of observation and questionnaires in the Pre-cycle, Cycle I, and Cycle II to determine the improvement in student motivation. In the Pre-cycle, the average of student's motivation was 55% or low, in Cycle I, it was 69% or fair, and in Cycle II, it was 83% or high. The test results showed that most students improved their reading comprehension on the descriptive text material. The average score in Pre-cycle was 65.6 or fair, in Cycle I was 72 or good, and in Cycle II was 83 or good. The research findings indicate that using Quizwhizzer significantly enhances students’ learning motivation and reading comprehension when engaging with descriptive texts. In conclusion, by implementing Quizwhizzer media, students' reading comprehension of descriptive texts can be improved. Students become more active learners through interactive quizzes, which enhance their comprehension. Therefore, the Quizwhizzer media can be alternative media. It is recommended for students to improve their descriptive text reading comprehension by using Quizwhizzer media.
