Curriculum is an important component in the education system as a guideline to achieve the desired educational goals. In Indonesia, there is currently a Kurikulum Meredeka, which is the latest curriculum. In its implementation, English language learning is a new subject and an option, especially in elementary schools in the Wanayasa sub-district. It causes problems experienced by teachers in implementing this. Teachers had obstacles and challenges when giving material to students. Then, teachers find that students have difficulty in learning English. There are three objectives of this study. First, to find out the teachers' views on the existence of English language learning in elementary school in the Kurikulum Merdeka. Second, to identify the types of resources they use in teaching English. Third, to identify the specific challenges teachers face, especially in terms of student engagement when implementing English language learning. This study was conducted in elementary schools in Wanayasa sub-district, with the research subjects were teachers who have implemented English language learning in the classroom. A case study was used in this research by using observation, questionnaire, interview, and documentation as data collection techniques. The writer distributed questionnaires consisting of 15 statements to 15 teachers as respondents and interviewed 4 teachers as resource persons. Then, the data results were analyzed based on the theory of Miles and Huberman (1994) and were validated using data validation according to Denzin (2012). The results of this study showed that, first, respondents felt that the Kurikulum Merdeka provided comfort in learning activities because it could adjust the needs of students. The existence of English language learning in elementary school in this curriculum provided benefits and had a significant impact on students' abilities. Second, the resources teachers used to implement this learning influenced their teaching methods. They used various resources such as textbooks, pictures, the surrounding environment, and the internet. Third, there were still some challenges teachers faced, such as a lack of competent teachers, lack of student interest, difficulties in obtaining learning materials, and inadequate availability of supporting resources. Therefore, there was a need to improve teacher strategies and support from the school to ensure the implementation of effective and quality English language learning in schools.
