SKRIPSI THE EFFECTIVENESS OF QUIZIZZ PAPER MODE AT INCREASING STUDENTS’ READING SKILLS OF SEVENTH GRADERS IN MTs AL-HUDA KALIABU

Reading is a receptive skill that helps readers acquire language skills. It is one of the language skills that students must master well. However, most seventh-grade students at MTs Al-Huda have low reading skills. This could be due to the use of monotonous learning media, which makes students feel less motivated to learn to read. This study focuses on students' reading skills. In this study, the writer used the Quizizz Paper Mode media. This study aims to (1) Analyze whether there is a significant difference in the reading skills of seventh-grade students at MTs Al Huda Kaliabu who are taught using the Quizizz Paper Mode media (2) Analyze the effectiveness of the use of Quizizz Paper Mode media in learning reading skills for seventh-grade students at MTs Al Huda Kaliabu. The writer chose quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design. This study was conducted at MTs Al-Huda Kaliabu in seventh grade. It used two classes, class VII A as the control class and class VII B as the experimental class. The sample selection used a purposive sampling technique. Data collection used tests, namely pre-test and post-test. Data analysis was conducted using the MannWhitney Test and the N-Gain Test. The study results showed the Mann-Whitney U test in the experimental and control classes, the Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value was 0.000 (kurang dari 0,5). These results indicate a significant difference between the use of Quizizz Paper Mode media and textbook media on the reading ability of seventh graders of MTs Al-Huda Kaliabu. In addition, the N-Gain test value in the experimental class was 66.4449, which means that the application of Quizizz Paper Mode media has moderate effectiveness. In conclusion, Quiz Paper Mode media effectively improves students' reading ability. This media can also make students interested in learning, more active, and more involved, and increase their motivation to learn. Therefore, teachers can make this learning media a preferred medium for improving students' reading ability.
