SKRIPSI DEVELOPING LKPD WITH ROUND ROBIN STRATEGY AND JUXTAPOSED VISUAL TO ENHANCE SEVENTH GRADERS’ DESCRIPTIVE WRITING SKILL
This research was conducted to develop a teaching material in the form of a student LKPD to enhance seventh graders’ descriptive writing skills. Writing, particularly descriptive writing, is one of the essential language skills required in the English curriculum. However, many students find it difficult to write descriptively due to a lack of vocabulary, limited exposure to models, and low motivation. In addition, existing teaching materials are often insufficient to facilitate interactive and collaborative learning that engages students in the writing process. Therefore, this study aims to offer a solution by designing an LKPD that combines the Round Robin strategy and juxtaposed visuals to create a more engaging and structured learning experience. This study had three main objectives: (1) to identify the teacher’s need regarding LKPD to enhance students’ writing skill, (2) to design and develop an LKPD that aligns with the identified needs and curriculum goals, and (3) to validate the developed LKPD based on expert judgment from an English teacher. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method based on the modified Borg and Gall model as adapted by (Sugiyono, 2019). The procedures included potential and problem identification, data collection, product design, design validation, and revision. The needs analysis was conducted through and questionnaires with an English teacher at SMPN 7 Kota Magelang. Based on the findings, the LKPD was designed to support collaborative learning and visual engagement in descriptive writing. The developed LKPD was validated by the judgement experts. The English teacher gave a validity score of 89%, which fall into the “Very Valid†category. This result indicate that the product is feasible for use in classroom learning. In conclusion, the LKPD developed in this study successfully meets the identified needs of teachers and fulfills the criteria for valid and practical learning material. Although classroom implementation was not conducted in this study, the expert validation results confirm that the LKPD is appropriate for use and has the potential to enhance students’ descriptive writing skills in future classroom applications.
