SKRIPSI USING PEAR DECK TO INCREASE THE NARRATIVE TEXT WRITING SKILL OF THE TENTH GRADERS OF SMAN 5 MAGELANG

This study aims to improve students' motivation and writing skill in narrative text by using Pear Deck as learning media. The research was conducted through classroom action research involving tenth-grade students of SMAN 5 Magelang. Both qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques were employed to analyze the data. The results showed an improvement in students' writing skill. Their average writing score increased from 64.72 to 76.63, with most students achieved the minimum standard score of 75. Pear Deck guided students through the writing process and made it easier for them to understand the steps of writing a narrative text. Students also became more active and confident in writing. Although writing narrative text is still a challenge, they can develop their ideas better and enjoy the learning experience more. Pear Deck increased students' motivation to learn English and supported their writing ability. In addition, Pear Deck also makes learning more interactive and enjoyable. The writer hoped this study would be helpful for students, teachers, and future researchers interested in using technology to improve writing skills in English subject.
