This study aims to examine whether using a Local Culture-Based Concept Sort Strategy can improve the motivation and comprehension of report texts among year 9 students at SMPN 2 Secang. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method consisting of three stages: Pre-cycle, Cycle I and Cycle II. 27 students from Class IX D participated in the study, and data was collected through observation, questionnaires, documentation, and reading comprehension tests. The findings indicated that implementing the Local Culture-Based Concept Sort Strategy significantly improved student’s motivation and reading comprehension. More than 80% of students demonstrated high motivation. Furthermore, their reading comprehension scores increased, with an average score of 86.67, indicating that most students exceeded the minimum passing grade. These results suggest that integrating local cultural content with the Concept Sort Strategy effectively enhances both student motivation and reading comprehension report texts.
