SKRIPSI RECOUNT TEXT MODULE FOR THE 8th GRADES: IMPROVING STUDENTS’ WRITING SKILLS IN THE PAST EVENT
This module was developed to address students’ challenges in understanding and composing recount texts, which are often hindered by a lack of contextual and engaging materials. Usually, the learning resources available for recounting text are still limited. In addition, some students may experience difficulties. Learning materials are also often less relevant to students’ experiences and cultures, making them less meaningful and interesting. The purpose of this module is to provide a means for teachers to teach recount texts to students so that students can understand recount texts. In addition, it also facilitates structured exercises so that they can improve understanding of concepts. This teaching module is also expected to optimize the use of learning resources so that the quality of student learning is more standardized and consistent. Thus, the development of this module is expected to overcome various obstacles in learning and improve the ability to understand recount texts. The method used in creating this module is to adopt the Research and Development (R&D) approach, utilizing the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) model for development. However, due to time constraints, the research only used the ADD model. The module that was created has been assessed by two English lecturers from Tidar University and an English teacher, and the results were 92.50, 80.00, and 95.00, with an average of 89.16, indicating a Very Good predicate for Material Validation. The validation results from three media experts were 92.50, 80.00, and 95.00, with an average of 89.16, with a Very Good predicate.
