SKRIPSI IMPROVING WRITING SKILLS IN PROCEDURE TEXTS THROUGH THE DEMONSTRATING STRATEGY FOR 11TH GRADERS AT SMAN 2 MAGELANG
Writing is a crucial skill in language learning, enabling students to organize,
express, and develop ideas clearly. However, many EFL students struggle with
writing, especially in constructing procedure texts. These difficulties often stem
from limited vocabulary, poor grammar, and low motivation. To address this issue,
a suitable strategy is needed to support students’ writing development through
practical and engaging instruction.
This study aimed to improve students’ writing skills and motivation in
writing procedure texts by implementing the Demonstrating Strategy. The strategy
was selected because it provides visual and hands-on learning experiences, helping
students better understand the structure and features of procedure texts.
The research was conducted using Classroom Action Research (CAR),
following Kemmis and McTaggart’s model, involving Pre-Cycle, Cycle 1, and
Cycle 2. The subjects were 31 eleventh-grade students of class XI F2.2 at SMA
Negeri 2 Magelang. Data were collected through writing tests, observation,
questionnaires, interviews, and documentation.
