SKRIPSI PENGARUH DOSIS PUPUK SILIKA DAN PEMANGKASAN TUNAS TERHADAP HASIL TANAMAN MELON (Cucumis melo L) PADA HIDROPONIK SISTEM IRIGASI TETES

ABSTRACT
The Effect of Silica Fertilizer Dosage and Shoot Pruning on Melon Plant Yield (Cucumis melo L) Yield in a Hydroponic Drip Irrigation System Kurnia Fauziyah kurnia.fauziyah@students.untidar.ac.id The decline in melon production in Indonesia in the last three years has prompted improvements in fertilization and pruning to increase melon production. This study aims to analyze the effect of silica fertilizer dosage and shoot pruning, as well as their interaction on melon plant yield. The study was conducted from January to March 2025 in Pancuranmas Village, Secang District, Magelang Regency. The research method was carried out hydroponically using a completely randomized design (4 × 2) and repeated three times. The first factor was the silica fertilizer dosage consisting of four levels, namely 0; 0,2; 0,4 and 0,6 mL/plant. The second factor was shoot pruning, namely pruning the 1st to 3rd shoots and pruning the 1st to 6th shoots, the next shoots were retained for fertilization. The results showed that the administration of silica fertilizer dosage up to 0,6 mL/plant did not show significant differences in the parameters of flowering age, pollination age, fruit diameter, and sweetness level, and showed the highest results in the parameters of fruit weight, fruit circumference and fruit volume. The treatment of pruning shoots 1 to 3 or pruning shoots 1 to 6 gave results that did not significantly affect the parameters of flowering age, pollination age, fruit weight, fruit circumference, fruit diameter, fruit volume and sweetness level. The interaction between the dose of silica fertilizer and pruning shoots occurred in the fruit weight parameter by giving the highest results at a dose of 0.6 mL/plant and pruning shoots 1 to 6. Thus, the application of silica fertilizer and pruning shoots, either singly or in interaction, can support increased melon production.
