SKRIPSI KERAGAMAN SERANGGA HAMA PADA FASE VEGETATIF PADI VARIETAS MUTAN DAN VARIETAS PERSILANGAN
ABSTRACT
Insect Pest Species Diversity in the Vegetative Phase of Mutant and Crossbred Rice Varieties Muhamad Arifin Ilham Email: muhamad.arifin.ilham@students.untidar.ac.id One of the factors limiting rice cultivation in Indonesia is the presence of insect pests. Utilizing superior varieties resulting from cross-breeding and mutation is one method that can be used to boost production. Depending on the variety and environmental conditions, different insect pests attack different rice areas with varying diversity and abundance. The study aimed to find and evaluate the diversity index, evenness, and dominance of insect pests targeting cross-bred and mutant rice varieties during the vegetative phase. For sampling and pest sample identification, the study was carried out at the Central Java Agricultural Training Center, the Agriculture and Plantation Service of Central Java Province, and Tidar University's Integrated Laboratory. In order to determine plant samples, the research method employed purposive sampling to examine the types and populations of insect pests in two mutant varieties (Srinuk and Gamagora 7) and three cross-bred varieties (Mantap, IPB 3S, and Inpari 32). The data that have been obtained are analyzed using scientific references based on the morphological suitability of insect pests and processed using the diversity, evenness, and dominance index formulas. According to the study's findings, insect pests were identified in the Orders Diptera, Lepidoptera, Homoptera, Coleoptera, Orthoptera, and Hemiptera. The diversity, evenness, and dominance indices of insect pests varied by variety at each growth stage. The diversity index of insect pests was categorized as low to moderate during the vegetative phase of the mutant and hybrid rice varieties. A low diversity index indicates an unstable ecosystem, whereas a moderate index suggests a relatively more stable condition.
