SKRIPSI THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ROLE-PLAYING AND RECIPROCAL TEACHING STRATEGY TO IMPROVE 10TH GRADERS’ SPEAKING SKILLS IN SMK CITRA MEDIKA KOTA MAGELANG
This research aims to examine the effectiveness of a combined Role-Playing and Reciprocal Teaching strategy in improving the speaking skills of 10th-grade students at SMK Citra Medika Kota Magelang. The study was backgrounded by the challenges in implementing the Kurikulum Merdeka, where students often struggle to retain material despite engaging in enjoyable learning processes, coupled with specific issues such as a lack of confidence and difficulty in speaking spontaneously among vocational students. This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group. The sample consisted of two classes: X Pharmacy 1 as the experimental group, which received the combined strategy treatment, and X Pharmacy 2 as the control group, which was taught using a lecturing strategy. Data were collected through speaking tests (pre-test and post-test) and were analyzed using the Independent Sample T-Test and N-Gain Score.
