SKRIPSI PENGARUH BERBAGAI SUMBER BATANG DAN ZAT PENGATUR TUMBUH TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN STEK SIRIH MERAH (Piper crocatum Ruiz & Pav.)

ABSTRACT
The Effect of Various Stem Sources and Plant Growth Regulators on the Growth of Red Betel Leaf Cuttings (Piper crocatum Ruiz & Pav.) Arsanti Puspita Eka Pertiwi arsantipuspita@gmail.com The study aimed to examine the effects of different stem sources and types of growth regulators on the growth of red betel (Piper crocatum Ruiz & Pav.) cuttings. The research was conducted from September 2023 to January 2024 at the Agricultural Education and Development Garden Bandongan, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Tidar, Bandongan District, Magelang. The study employed a Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications as blocks. The first factor was the source of stem cuttings, consisting of apical cuttings and middle stem cuttings. The second factor was soaking in various types of growth regulators, including shallot extract, coconut water, IBA solution, Rootone F solution, and water (as the control). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at 5% and 1% significance levels for the growth regulator treatments. The results showed that cuttings from the middle stem produced higher values in terms of survival rate, longest shoot length, number of leaves, number of roots, and longest root length. Meanwhile, apical cuttings resulted in the fastest time to shoot emergence. Both stem sources had no significant effect on chlorophyll content. Treatments with different types of growth regulators did not significantly affect the growth of red betel cuttings. Furthermore, there was no significant interaction between stem source and growth regulator treatments on the growth of red betel cuttings
