SKRIPSI THE USE OF THE POWER OF TWO STRATEGIES TO INCREASE THE STUDENTS' WRITING SKILLS OF NARRATIVE TEXT IN SMP N 1 TEMPURAN
Writing skills are one of the four essential abilities needed to master the
English language. Based on the writer's observation, student motivation for writing
remains low, especially in writing narrative texts. The pre-cycle test results show
that the students have poor motivation, and the average writing score is still below
the standard (KKM) of 75. The writer applied the Power of Two Strategy to boost
student motivation and writing ability.
There are two objectives in this research. The first objective is to determine
whether using The Power of Two Strategies can increase students' learning
motivation at SMP N 1 Tempuran during the 2023/2024 academic year. The second
objective is to know how much students improve in writing skills, especially in
learning narrative text.
This research used Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research is
divided into pre-cycle, Cycle I, and Cycle II. Each Cycle consists of planning,
observing, acting, and reflecting. The subject of this research is students of 8G SMP
N 1 Tempuran, academic year 2023/2024, who consisted of 12 male and 19 female
students. The writer used non-test (observation, questionnaire, and documentation)
and test to assess student motivation and writing ability
