Banana plants are highly susceptible to infection by the pathogenic fungus Fusarium, which causes Fusarium wilt disease. Farmers generally control Fusarium wilt disease in banana plants using chemical fungicides that can have a negative impact on the environment. The use of biological agents from the rhizosphere of banana plants is an appropriate and environmentally safe solution. This study was conducted to determine the ability of antagonistic fungi in the rhizosphere of banana plants to inhibit the growth of Fusarium pathogens. The study was conducted from March to August 2025 at the Integrated Laboratory of Tidar University. The exploration of antagonistic fungi and soil samples was carried out in Baron Village, Muntilan District, Magelang Regency. This antagonistic test was carried out using a non-factorial completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replicates. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance and further testing with DMRT. This study obtained 3 antagonistic fungal isolates with isolate codes A, K, and R, which had inhibition rates of 66.95%, 77.23%, and 20.73%, respectively. These findings are expected to contribute to the development of biological and environmentally friendly control of Fusarium wilt disease.
