SKRIPSI DEVELOPING VOCABVENTURE EDUTOURISM TRAVEL BOOK FOR ELEMENTARY STUDENT VISITORS AT TAMAN KYAI LANGGENG ECOPARK
This study aims to develop the Vocabventure Edutourism Travel Book as an English learning medium to support contextual vocabulary learning for elementary school students at Taman Kyai Langgeng (TKL) Ecopark. The development of this product is intended to enhance English learning experiences by connecting language learning with real-world contexts found in an edutourism environment. As an educational tourism destination, TKL Ecopark provides rich environmental resources that support experiential learning activities. However, English learning during educational visits has not been supported by structured and contextual learning materials specifically designed for young learners. This condition indicates a gap between outdoor educational activities and the availability of appropriate English vocabulary learning media. To address this issue, the study focuses on three main objectives. These objectives are identifying the needs for English learning media in the edutourism context, describing the design and development process of the Vocabventure Edutourism Travel Book, and evaluating the feasibility of the developed product. This study employed Design and Development Research (DDR) based on Richey and Klein’s (2013) model, which consists of need analysis, design and development, and evaluation phases. The research is categorized as Product and Tool Development, with a primary focus on developing an educational product and validating it through expert judgment. The results of questionnaires, interviews, and documentation reveal strong support from English teachers and TKL Ecopark staff for a contextual, activitybased, and visually supported English learning medium. Based on these findings, the Vocabventure Edutourism Travel Book was developed by integrating vocabulary themes, experiential activities, and reflection tasks. Expert validation results indicate that the product is feasible and appropriate as an English learning guide in an edutourism context, supporting experiential vocabulary learning for elementary school students
