SKRIPSI THE EFFECTIVENESS OF GALLERY WALK STRATEGY WITH PEER FEEDBACK TOWARD ANALYTICAL EXPOSITION WRITING SKILL OF THE ELEVENTH GRADERS
Analytical exposition writing is one of the essential skills that students need to master in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learning because it requires them to present logical arguments, organize ideas coherently, and support their opinions with relevant evidence. However, many students experience difficulties in developing arguments, organizing ideas coherently, and using appropriate grammar and vocabulary when writing analytical exposition texts. In addition, limited opportunities for collaboration and constructive feedback often affect students' writing performance. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the Gallery Walk Strategy integrated with Peer Feedback in improving students' analytical exposition writing skills. It also examined whether there was a significant difference between students taught using the Gallery Walk Strategy with Peer Feedback and those taught using the Group Discussion Strategy. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group involving a pre-test and a post-test. The participants were eleventh-grade students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Kota Magelang in the academic year 2025/2026. The data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, Levene's homogeneity test, Independent Samples ttest, and Normalized Gain (N-Gain) test. The findings revealed a statistically significant difference between the experimental and control groups. The Independent Samples t-test produced a significance value of 0.002 (< 0.05), indicating that the null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. Furthermore, the N-Gain analysis showed that the experimental group achieved a mean N-Gain score of 68.70%, categorized as moderate improvement. These findings indicate that the Gallery Walk Strategy integrated with Peer Feedback was more effective than the Group Discussion Strategy in improving the analytical exposition writing skills of the eleventh graders of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Kota Magelang.
