Emai: tiara.zalzabillah.putri@students.untidar.ac.id Eggplant productivity often fails to reach its optimal potential due to disease attacks that can affect various parts of the plant, including leaves, stems, and fruits. Disease infection may interfere with photosynthesis, vegetative growth, flower formation, and ultimately reduce the quality and quantity of yield. This study aimed to determine the effects of potassium chloride (KCl) fertilizer rates, shoot pruning time, and the interaction between KCl fertilizer rates and shoot pruning time on disease incidence and yield of green eggplant. The study was conducted from January to April 2026 at Jl. Temanggung–Bulu, Sukosari, Kebonsari, Temanggung District, Temanggung Regency, Central Java, Indonesia. The experiment used a 4 × 3 factorial design arranged in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. The first factor was KCl fertilizer rate, consisting of 0, 100, 200, and 300 kg ha⁻¹, while the second factor was shoot pruning time at 7, 14, and 21 days after planting (DAP). The data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). When significant or highly significant effects were detected, further analysis was performed using orthogonal polynomial analysis for KCl fertilizer rates and the interaction between KCl fertilizer rates and shoot pruning time, and the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test for shoot pruning time. The results showed that KCl fertilizer rates and shoot pruning time did not significantly affect any of the observed parameters. The interaction between KCl fertilizer rates and shoot pruning time also had no significant effect on all observed parameters. During the study, disease symptoms were observed that visually resembled those generally associated with Phytophthora sp. However, since laboratory identification of the pathogen was not conducted, the causal pathogen could not be confirmed. Therefore, the KCl fertilizer rates and shoot pruning times evaluated in this study did not improve disease incidence or yield of green eggplant.
