SKRIPSI PENGARUH MODEL ROLE PLAYING BERBANTUAN MEDIA KARTU PERAN TERHADAP PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN BERBICARA PADA MATERI TEKS NEGOSIASI
The low reading skill proficiency among tenth-grade vocational high school
students can be attributed to a range of internal and external factors that impede
their English language learning. This study investigated the use of the Team Games
Tournament (TGT) to improve students' reading skills at SMK N 1 Windusari
during the 2024/2025 academic year.
This study used a quantitative pre-experimental research model. The study sample
was the tenth-grade TKR 2 class, selected using a purposive sampling method.
Students' reading ability was measured using a pre-test and a post-test. The
collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, normality tests, and paired
sample t-tests.
The findings showed a statistically significant increase in reading ability after using
the Team Games Tournament (TGT), with a significance value (Sig.) below the
0.05 threshold. These results indicate that the Team Games Tournament is an
effective learning model for improving reading skills in descriptive text learning.
The Team Games Tournament is effective for improving students' reading ability,
especially among vocational high school students. Further research could explore
the application of this model to other language abilities or investigate alternative
research variables.
